There are so many different reasons that people get into situations where they find themselves lost and confused mentally and emotionally. And still, most people choose to try to handle these new feelings and emotions on their own. They choose to do it on their own probably because they don’t know their resources. There are so many resources available these days that so many people can be helped and reached, but they are not able to reach out or they just don’t know where to start. Most people may not see or understand that whatever situation they find themselves in, it is worthy of getting attention; even professional counseling to help them through it. The need for counseling can range from very basic needs all the way to severely traumatic events. If you have found yourself in any of these situations, know that you are not alone, and that you are worthy of getting professional attention: going through a divorce, the need for life balance, anxiety/depression, addiction. St. George Counseling will give you many reasons to choose ‘help’ over ‘pain.’
Going Through a Divorce
Divorce is so prevalent these days that people go into the mindset that they don’t need the help and that it’s just a “phase” to get through. Yes, in some cases, that can be the truth. But in some more severe situations, getting professional help is so important to stabilize and adjust to a new lifestyle and way of living. It is especially important to get help when children (especially young children) are involved. Children get the brunt of the pain and hurt if their parent or parents don’t choose to receive the much needed professional help.
The Need for Life Balance
In a more light situation, just needing some help gaining life balance is a very real and important reason for reaching out for professional counseling. Some may feel that the basic need for help with balancing life might not be a very real reason for professional counseling, but surprisingly, it is a very good reason. The more you know about yourself and being able to self reflect on yourself, the more control you can gain over so many different life situations that may also include outside people who could use some understanding from people that have better life balance.
Anxiety and/or Depression
Of course anxiety and/or depression are very important reasons for reaching out for professional counseling. Anxiety and depression can leave you feeling so depleted and unwanted. Therefore opening up the possibility to spiral even deeper. Gaining some control on your anxiety and depression can be very life-changing and extremely beneficial.
Addiction
Addiction can be a very controlling aspect of so many people’s lives. Addiction, if not handled correctly, can leave you feeling helpless and out of control of every aspect of your life. The addiction can be something such as unhealthy eating which can lead to unhealthy weight gain, or an addiction to pornography can lead to divorce or even more severe life problems. Gaining control of an addiction can be life-changing if you allow the change to take place.
