Why wait for spring to thoroughly clean your home when you can treat yourself to a refreshing start to 2023 instead? In this article, we’re going to share 10 easy house chores that will rejuvenate your space, declutter your home, and put you in good stead for the rest of the year. It’s as easy as this…
1. Clean your doors and frames
Get rid of all those networthexposed smudges and stains and give your doors and frames a good dust and scrub down. It’s a quick and easy job that will make all the difference.
2. Empty your fridge and give it a clean
The fridge can get very dirty throughout the year and it’s difficult to stay on top of. Take the time to clear everything out and give it a thorough clean! It’s also a great opportunity to throw out all of the expired items you’ve likely missed.
3. Sort the junk drawer out
Everyone has a junk drawer in their home and they’re typically filled with things we’ll never use. Go through it and be vigilant. Then organise it using empty tubs and cartons to make it easier to navigate when you need something.
4. Clean your air conditioners and vents
Give your local air conditioning company a call and have them thoroughly clean out your air conditioners and vents. Not only is this good maintenance, but a clean AC will work far more efficiently.
5. Dust your ceiling fans and lampshades
Borrow a step ladder and get up close and personal with those ceiling fans and lampshades. By now they’re likely caked with dust and due a good scrub down. This can improve the air quality in your home and help to reduce allergies.
6. Tidy your bathroom vanities
When was the last time you looked under your bathroom sink? Go through it and organise your toiletries while being vigilant and throwing the empty stuff away. And while you’re at it, move those fancy shower gels and moisturisers that you never use to the front and start enjoying them! The only thing you need to save for a rainy day is money.
7. Clean under all of your furniture and appliances
Sweep and hoover under your beds, sofas, and heavy appliances. Due to their size these are cleaning jobs we often neglect, but it’s well worth starting the year strong with a hefty removal of all those nasty dust bunnies that have accumulated.
8. Organise your wardrobe
De-clutter your wardrobe by separating the items that you never wear (and likely never will again). These can either be sold or given to charity. Let them be put to good use rather than sitting in your wardrobe collecting dust.
9. De-clutter the high-traffic areas in your home
Look at all the high-traffic areas in your home and start sorting all of the items into three piles:
- Things to remain
- Things to re-home
- Thing to remove entirely
10. Sort your kitchen cupboards
How organised is your kitchen? Are you constantly misplacing certain items? Does the layout serve you optimally while cooking? Do you have out-of-date items tucked away at the back of your cupboards? Spend a few hours taking everything out, giving it a good clean, and thinking about ways in which the orientation of your kitchen may be improved.
Or start fresh
Another alternative is to afford yourself a different kind of refreshing start entirely; moving into a new home. Perhaps it’s time for you to uproot and treat yourself to a change of scenery?
